Fog lights

or should I say lack of them. I had fog lights when I bought the truck back in june, but sometime in the last month or so they have quit working. I have checked the fuse and changed the bulbs but still nothing, is there a relay or something for them somewhere. Thanks

P.S. Those bulbs are a pain to change.

Re: Fog lights

Make sure the rig is running/key in far forward position when you check your fog lights.

Re: Fog lights

Have you had any major service done recently that would necessitate cab removal? There is a connector near the steering gear on the top side of the frame that powers the fog lamps that is easy to miss during reassembly...

Re: Fog lights

Sorta hate to chime in here with only a little info, but. I believe there is a relay. The relay is what turns them on/off when you go to high beams. I helped a friend some time back fix his, but my head is a blank right now. This sometimers disease is very much bad. But I think I thought, that the relay was a normally closed(on) and opened when the high beams came on. That wouldn't seem to fit your symptoms, unless the contacts were burnt. Not likely. Have you measured the voltage at the bulb with them on? You may should be looking for a ground problem instead of a power problem. Just a thought to narrow it down a little.

Re: Fog lights

I have no voltage at all at the plug the goes into the light. ?????
Is there any relays for these lights? I tried tracing the wire back from the the lights but with all the room under the hood I could not keep up with them.
