Front hub on auto 4x4

4x4 drive hub with air auto to engage. I notice last week like grease coming out the back. Maybe seal. On a truck with 18k I thought not normal. I rotated the tires and checked. It looks like hub is getting hot and maybe bearing or seal. I painted to kept the rust down on disc has changed color. The only 1 of 4

Is taking 4x4 hub apart a pain, or a dealer job. There three allen screws, but what’s behind to get to the bearing and seal. Is this a press in metal seal or just rubber. I know the rotor and disc brakes are free floating and come off from hub. I worked on trucks, just not the new auto hubs with air. Just don't want part flying out.

Thanks

BL

Re: Front hub on auto 4x4

It being that new, I'd have the dealer do it. If you find it's more than just a hub problem, you'll likely have a warranty claim denied if you've already torn it apart and they can't see and verify the actual problem.
