No problems. Came on the truck and have about 15,000 miles on them. Rotated them at about 8000 miles and didn't need to balance them. Brother-in-law has about 42,000 on them with no problems.
I am having problems. After 15k miles they have begun to vibrate. According to the tire shop they have cupped and worn so unevenly, they border on defective. I have always rotated and rebalanced my tires at between 5-6k miles. The last time, It took between 10-14 ounces of lead on three of them, and they still shake. Of course goodyear claims a mechanical problem caused the cupping and wear
and won't exchange them, even though they inspected the truck and found no problems with any suspension or steering parts on the truck.
This is the third and last time I get burned by goodyear. Unfortunately not to many companies make this size tire for our trucks yet. I will be switching as soon as I find a decent replacement.
I always have tried to stick with michelin, a little pricey but they ride smooth and are easily replace at any sears.
Ok, I must have a bad one or road hazard or something...........anyway, with 16,000 miles Goodyear is replacing it at no cost.
Other than to say it is not round - like one big high spot, I don't why it is that way, if it was made bad or is in the process of falling apart, I don't know. The other three tires on the truck are perfectly round. And the dates on all four tires are with in 2 weeks of each other.......2 are the same day, and the other 2 are the same day. The two pair are two weeks apart.
The vibration on my truck started at 3,500 miles; and balancing has done no good up to this point.
The replace tire will be here the end of next week.
The one big high spot sort of reminds of the Firestone 500's years ago, they grew big lumps and/or high spots, and then proceeded to fall apart.
Like this has taken another week of time.......but finally getting to the answers, I hope.

I feel your pain........at my first 5,000 rotation and balance, the rear tires were cupped fairly bad. Both Discount tire and Ford Dealer said so. I said it was bad shocks but Ford said no, it can't be...........it was the bad shocks.
However, with each subsequent rotation the cupping smoothed out; but it is the back axle doing all the damage (cupping) from the constant hopping.
Anyway with the new Bilsteins on it, other then the one tire that is bad, all my hopping should go away.
Discount Tire, still has major problems in mounting the wheel/tires to the spin balancers. I made them finally, several times today, take a wheel/tire that was perfectly balance on the machine, take it off and put it right back on and it was then 4oz off in the opposite side of the wheel. They simply do not have the correct equipment to balance these wheel/tires.
Being out of round from new is one thing but becoming flat spotted usually happens from skidding or sitting for long periods. The wheel should be checked without a tire on it. Put it on the machine and give it a spin. You will be able to see the wheel wobble left to right or hop up and down. If the wheel is not true to begin with your not working from a clean slate so to speak.
Before they balance the tire/wheels they should set the machine up properly. This involves entering the width, diameter, and offset of the wheel. The machine needs to know this in order to balance the wheel correctly.
Also if the wheel needs excessive weight on it try deflating it, unseating the bead and spinning the tire 180 degrees in relation to the wheel. Alot of time what happens is the heaviest side of the tire gets matched up with the heaviest side of the wheel equalling one really out of balance tire.
Thanks Diesel Rules.....Well Discount Tire is replacing one tire under warrantee. They are treating as some sort of failure. Even so I know the specific store I have been going to is not able to correctly balance the tires. On two different days this week they spend over 2 hours just on my four tires. And just taking the wheel tire combination off the machine and putting back on, they would be getting totally different readings by 2, 3, and 4 oz. which is insane. Apparently, their three balancing mahcines are not able to balance these 20" wheels and tires. They simply do not have the correct equipment or knowledge. In the last 10,000 miles they have used at least eight of the "best" tech. The last tech that rode in the truck on smooth asphalt, said wow, this thing is really kicking us in the butt. They had just spend 2 hours the day before attempting to balance it.
There is no flat sport per-se. It appears to be a high spot or large lump. Just like the Firestone tires I have had that just loose their tread. Meaning in a few more months the tread would come off?
The replacement tire they have ordered will not be here till the end of next week. I just hope the other three round tires do not fail by then?
I have located what I think is an expert tire dealer that has an excellent reputation with trucks from half ton to 18 wheelers, they are 60 miles away; but worth it I think. And the Ford dealer has a tire department too, which is another choice.
This is the first time Discount Tire has let me donw like this. It is good they are replacing the tire; but it is bad they can not balance it; so obviously I have to go someplace else.
These are pretty small tires, I mean 34" is not that big and 20" wheels are common place now a days, as well as a large aspect ratio making mounting/dismounting easy. I would hope a "tire place" would have equipment that could handle this. Sounds to me like they are not properly calibrating the balancer. Also the hop might be a wheel problem check it out.
I have been using the AT/S's since they came out. I have had them on a few different Jeeps in a few different sizes. I like them alot, never had any problems. There obviously can be duds but as a whole they are a good tire.
I had a problem a few years ago... I bought a used 3/4ton Suburban and it had a nasty vibration. Replaced tires. Still there. Had shop re balance tires 3 times over a month. I was ready to sell it... Ended up being a drum that had lost a weight. The balance guy thought I was nuts when I asked him if he could chuck up a drum on the balancer...

That's a good point. Rotors can be out of balance but even more so the driveshaft/s can really cause some serious vibration. However you're having trouble getting your wheels properly balanced.
I would let them replace the bad tire and then just go to another tire shop and ask them to high speed balance them, usually like 7 bucks a tire. I really think that will cure your problems.
If you want to hear a good story I'll tell you one. I had a brand new '98 Grand Cherokee and the front right tire was wearing horribly on the outside. It was out of alignment a no brainer. Well I brought it to Jeep under warranty like 3 times and asked them to fix it. Each time they said it was fine, once they actually told me I was making more left turns then rights. Next thing you know the tires on the right side are bald on the edge. So I go to Goodyear in the next town over, and they were cool. All for free they put it on the alignment machine, and the alignment is out. Surprise surprise. So they give me their printout and I went back to Jeep. Explain to them how Goodyear isn't going to replace my tires and that they shouldn't have to because they aren't defective. So the dealership says okay they will replace the tire. I state well I want 2 since rotating has caused them both to be worn. And I say I don't want these crappy tires that it came with I want a better one so I want to pay the difference for those 2 and I buy the 2 left ones. Okay great I go to pick up the truck it has 3 AT/S's and one RT/S. They must be blind. So they order another tire and tell me to leave it and they will replace the tire the next day when they get it. Well I wasn't going to be without a car for another day so I just leave and drive on it so they get stuck with the tire now because it is considered used, HA! Finally I bring it back the next day and leave it. When I go to pick it up I ask them for the 2 original tires off the left side, which I was going to give to a friend of mine who needed tires and these would fit. I figured she could save some money and only have to buy 2 tires. They say they threw them away. Well I explain that they were mine since I bought those 2 tires. So I made them eat some of the cost for those 2 tires too. Sorry for the rant.
DieselRules, Ok, my truck is being shipped to you now. NJ is a long way from TX, so I can't make it. When it's all fixed, just ship it back. Thanks in Advance. PS, If it comes back with new tires that would be grand too.
Right now that seems to be the came plan, get the one new tire, and take to someplace else to get them all balanced.
FWIW, yesterday I went wakeboardin on the River; 200 mile round trip with 8,500lb boat. When going 80mph it is fairly smooth, the most agreviating vibration is in the 50-70 range, with the worse in the 55-65 range. It also feels somewhat free of vibration below 45 except if you are on smooth asphalt you can feel the lumps. To me it feels like lumps in all the tires, but discount tire tells me only the left rear tire is lumpy. And yes we all see the lumps in the left rear tire when it is on the spinner, and not in the other tires. But the test method is just plain ole eyesight.
Still this "lump" thing to me is just like the Firestones before they would tread separate........if I remember correctly that was the 1 to 3 month warning?
Yeah come on up, lol. If you were closer I would throw them on the balancer for ya and if I couldn't fix em I could at least tell ya what was wrong. It's a PITA sometimes I know. Stupid little things and all you want is a straight answer from someone, but you can't get it.
Making minor progress. Because the most recent two hour balance job was so bad from last Thursday, I went to another Discount Tire (a newer store) just a few miles away - recommended from a Friend with a F250 that also had tire balance problems.
And sure enough the most recent balance from just a few days ago was about the usual 4oz off. Starting with the rear tires. They balanced the rear tire and were able to get the same reading within about 1oz. That is take the wheel off the machine and putting it back on three times - the reading was within 1 oz and not 4 oz like the other store. Basically, they took off about 3oz on each wheel, and the weights are in different positions.
They had much larger steel plates to hold the wheel on the machine better, both behind the wheel and in front of it. The first store only had little tiny cones that barely secured the wheel to the machine.
While the ride is not perfect by a long shot it is a whole lot better. The manager of that store is doing some research on this. So when the new tire finally shows up, they said that are going to be trying something different - some sort of micro adjust like they do for some of high performance race cars, that they never do on trucks? There goal he said was to get it to within 0.25oz when the take the wheel on and off the machine each time.
