Headlight switch--Removal??

2006--Question, is there a way to remove the "headlight switch bezel" w/o removing the entire dash?

remove the fuse panel reach up , and realease it from the back.

that is how you do it on the ealier models, it actually has some kind of slide that pulls the tabs in, but doubt you will get it the first time, after you have it out once, it is easy.

You can easily pull that side of the dash out of its clips and get enough room to get your hand in behind the headlight switch and push it out of its socket. You don't have to pull the whole dash off.

Pulling the dash is easy enough... once the radio is out. Two small bolts and pull.

the only problem that can happen is the faceplate of the switch will pop out.... That is what happened with mine. I tried to peal it out and out came the faceplate while the back and main part of the switch remained lodged in the dash.... So just peal it back a little and you will see. But I am pretty sure you can just drop the fuse panel below and pop it out from the back...

Here's the magical procedure for the 2000 models, might work on later ones:

Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Turn headlamp switch knob to the headlamp ON position and pull the knob out.
3. Insert a thin tool into the slot at the base of the knob to release it and pull the headlamp switch knob off.
4. Position the knob with the back end toward the headlamp ON position and install. (Rotate 180 degrees)
5. Turn the knob counterclockwise until the back of the knob is in the OFF position.
6. Turn the headlamp switch knob clockwise fully, remove the headlamp switch (11654) from the instrument panel and disconnect the electrical connectors.

Installation
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order when installing the original switch.

thanks guys sorry about not getting back sooner (flu issues) I thought the newer models (03+) did not come apart like the previous years. Will investigate and attempt all the ideas before pulling the dash. I know pulling the dash is not a big deal, just trying to go the least invasive route. thanks
