Question heavy equipment battery swap 01 - f250??

has anyone swapped in a set of heavy equipment batteries (semi truck... whatever) in a 01? I have 2 that are barely used and I do know that they are definitely taller and was wondering if anybody has any experience putting them in. What needs to be cut or fabricated to get clearance? My old batts are getting weak and I have a couple I bought for my old 92 idi - they fit those trucks easy! Can't say the same for this one. Just checking for others who have done this. I like having all that cranking power and would like to use them.

Figure a way to measure how much clearance you have above the OE batteries. I have a friend who replaced the Gp 65's in his OBS F-250 with a pair of top stud Gp 31's and he had no problem. I can't speak for the 99 up body style though.

You are in a much better position to decide what and how much to massage in order to make room but with larger cables, there is no reason batteries can't be relocated. The key word is larger but two or more cables can=larger. Welder cables are one source of extra leingth. Just make certain postive insulation is good and can't be chaffed .
