I have a 2000 f 350 crew cab short box 4x4 7.3 loaded , lifted.
How much does my truck wheight. I am going to buy a lift of ebay {Complete Hydroulic SL 10,000 BP] Item number: 220373190223.
Will a 10,000lbs lift do the job
An easy way to find out how much your truck weighs, it to go to your local land fill. you have to drive over a scale to get in, so just up to the window, and ask the gal how much you weigh. It won't cost you a dime, and you don't even have to get out of the truck

My truck is a 2001 shortbed extend cab. I weigh in at 7340 with a half tank of fuel. With your larger cab and additional weight with tires and lift I'll bet you are close to if not over 8000.
Mine weighed 8200 and change with me in it and fuel the last time I weighed it. I weigh 230lbs. so I would guess around 8000 with fuel. Mine is an 01 short bed crew, 350.

We have have our own shop and have a 10,000 lb lift. I put my 2001 Crew cab dually 8 ft bed on it. Its all about finding the balance point. Also when i raise the truck in the air i put a 4x4 under the rear reciever hitch and lower down the truck a little bit to take some weight off the rear arms.... I have pics in my signature below of my trucks on the lift. Also since you are going to use it for your truck I would recomend getting risers that go on the pads of the lift arms. You need them especially if you have running boards. You can use blocks of wood but these trucks are heavy and can slip on the boards.

Thanks Guys for your imput, I have been told about trucks falling of lifts. So what it all comes down to is :center point, proper lift blocks, and a good 4x4 support.
Remember the 4x4 is just there to help stabilize so don't put hardly any weight on the 4x4 just enough to keep it in place. Good luck with your lift. If you need any more info let me know

A 10k hoist should be adequate if you promise to not try to lift anything bigger than an unloaded F-350 shorty.
But you're taking a chance with a two-post hoist. You have to really pay attention and get the truck perfectly balanced on the hoist before you raise it up in the air. I noticed they had the 2-post version for $2,049.
But for only $150 more you can get the 10k 4-post version. Your shorty with 156" wheelbase will fit fine, but my longbed CrewCab is too long for that one with tracks less than my 176" wheelbase.
"Overal Lift Length w/out 37" Approach Ramps: 166 inches"
With your shorty, I would save my sheckles until I could afford the 4-post version. 10 K 4 POST AUTO HOIST
