I need a new 8' bed :(

I dropped the fifth wheel on my bed, and needless to say it wiped it out. I am trying to get it done on my own without going through insurance. Has anyone on here had to replace a whole bed? I am good with having to get it painted, and putting it on myself, I just don't wanna walk into a shop and get taken to the cleaners. Thanks!

Buy me a dump bed and you can have mine JK.

The hardest part will actually be finding the bed, the uninstall/install is pretty easy. You'll just need a couple of buddies for the lifting part. I believe they are know as "take offs, or take off beds"

I would look on eBay and Craigslist. Start calling around salvage yards. Try a few Topper/Cap dealers, they always have used take off beds or can at least point you to somebody that has them for sale.

How much do you haul? Would a custom hauler bed or even a flatbed with external tank and storage boxes be a better solution than the factory bed?

Look here Subway Truck Parts - Chevrolet Dodge Ford GMC International SRW bed for $1250, you can probably do better, but that was the first thing Google found me on the Left coast.

i haul a fifth wheel rv, and i wanted to stick with a factory bed. I have found a few white ones, new takeoffs, from an 08 (which i think will work) for 1000. THat may be the best deal.
