Lens on Speedometer Display

I bought my 2004 F-250 and the previous owner must have spilled some solvent on the display dulling it in spots. I have polished it out as best as I could with plastic polish. The question here is two fold. Can the lens be removed, I removed the dashboard but the lens is "glued" to the display, or is the a better way that plastic polish to get rid of the solvent runs.

I would love to do that, but I can figure out how to remove the lens. I believe it is sealed to the displays and to sand around the knob would be tough. Would I be able to restore the crystal clarity after sanding with 2000 grit, using plastic polish like that from Maguire's?

I believe you will have to pull off the big plastic piece on the front of the dash to get at the cluster.
Once that is removed, you should be able to get at the lens. The cluster itself may have also have to be removed to get the lens off

The lens can be purchased seperately

I have removed the Dash and the lens appears to be glued on. I tried prying it off, but stopped as I was afraid of breaking it.

on 01's u remove the gauge pod, clear lense is a snap on 4 or 6. easily removed. also replace all your bulbs while there. I had 1 out and 2 were burned black but still working. Just did it on mine last month. Looks like glass now. MEguiars cleaner then polish. Or just buy a new one and fart around with the old one.
