Low oil Pressure

I have a 99 F-800 with a 5.9 Cummings with 150K miles.

The dummy light came on. The oil pressure was low at any RPM, not just idle and the truck got hot but not to the point of over heating. The truck wouldn't go into 2nd gear so I pulled over. When I lifted the hood I noticed a small degree of smoke but I was not sure where it came from. I let the truck sit for about 1/2 hour and then restarted it and everything was back to normal. I then drove it to the job site about 3 miles away and by the time I got there, the oil pressure was low again and the truck was running at about 230-240 degrees.

I dropped the pan to check the pick-up screen and it was fine, there was no sludge in the pan, so i just changed the oil & filter. I started the truck and the pressure was back to normal, I drove it about 4 miles and the pressure dropped again and the tempature went up.

Any thoughts??
