I am getting the code and message: P1280 Injector Control Sensor Circuit Low. I have a 2001 F250 7.3l. Currently have about 240,000 miles. Very hesitant to take it to the local Ford dealership as I always get the feeling I am being 'raped'.... I am in the Merced, CA area and have a recomendation for a shop in Hilmar, CA called INdependent Automotive. Anyone else have recomendations in the Fresno, Madera, Merced, Turlock, Modesto area? I have done most the work myself in the past...this sounds a little outside what I want to deal with or capable of dealing with.

Thanks for the referral RT!! My current job has hindered my wrenching to 3 days a week. I would call "Country Ford" in Ceres. They have been my go to for parts and have always been fair and square with me. They deal with pretty much JUST trucks.
Pull the ICP sensor harness/connector off and check for oil in the connector. If you have a bad ICP sensor, you'll get that code. If you've got oil in it, replace it & see if your code goes away.

To update....I ended up taking it to Cleary Automotive in Clovis. TOld me that in addition to the P1280 code, it had a 1294 code. Said the wiring harness under drivers side valve cover was bad and the computer module for the injectors was bad. A few other minor issues also.
Ouch with the bill though! Been a reliable truck with the exception of transmission dying at about 100,000 miles and the CMP failing. So I can't complain...
