Message Center

On my 2000 F-250 Super-Duty Ford now calls it a 'Message Center.' I think that is kind of a stretch, but it is somewhat entertaining to know what the temperature outside is and to have a general idea what your mileage is; plus if your eyes have been closed which way is North. Mine went out the other day on the way home from having the dealer fix the latest recall on the cruise control. Of course, Ford dealers are selling them for $499.83 plus the usual. Does anyone have an idea where I can buy one at a reasonable price???

...And being afraid of breaking something that requires color matching, how do I get the circuit board out of the ceiling mount?

Just pull down and it will release (and make a racket doing so) There are metal clips holding it in the mount.

What is the story behind the display staying bright? Mine is too dim to see many times.

Thanks
