Multi function switch gone loopy

Hey guys, hope someone can shed some light on my problem. I have a 99 f-350 super duty 7.3 diesel automatic. Directionals started acting up (some times they blink, sometimes they don't, sometimes you can get them to work by lightly applying presure on the lever etc. ) All the parking lights work, flashers work, brake lights work, high beam works wipers and fluid button all work. I checked the fuses, checked the bulbs, replaced flasher relay, still nothing helped. So I figured it was the multi function switch. Picked one up, installed it and when I turned the key on, the fluid started spraying, the wipers where on high, the directionals still did not work and all the settings are ass backwards. Low is high, intermitent is low, fluid sprays on a couple of the settings. Figured it was a bad multifunction switch, so I was able to exchange it for another and when I installed it it did the same thing. I put the old multi function switch back in and I am back to where I started.
Any suggestions would be helpfull.
Thanks

That's weird for sure with the replacements being worse than the original. Maybe there's a short between circuits that you might have caused with your two replacement switches, that is now not touching when you put the original back in.

The wiper/washer functions are handled by the GEM, but the other stuff is switched directly by the multifunction switch.

Maybe a bad ground is causing a backfeed to the stuff you don't want to work when you move the switch.

Thanks

Your the second person that has told me that it sounds like a ground wire issue. I will start trying to trace it out. Any more ideas?
