Need some more VSM help

How do you get the module out of the bracket? Do you need to unbolt the bracket from the firewall??

hdone,

If you can see the VSM mounted on the firewall, it is attached to it with two bolts. I used a metric socket (don't remember the size) to remove the left side bolt first. If I remeber right the right side was a little more difficult but can be removed with a little time.

I don't remeber any brackets

Thanks Mark. I thought that connector peice slid out of the box. Looking at your pics I see its all one peice. These moduals are on back order. They are like 800 peices behind. My have them in a couple months. Wonder if there is a problem with these just like the CPS?

I don't think it's as bad as CPS, but there is for sure a lot of '02 with the same problem.....

I supprised that they are out of stock. When I was checking into the $ I called about 5 local dealers. 4 had the module in stock (priced from 195 to 300 !!!) the 5th tried to sell me a GEM for 395 ! I run from them as fast as I could.

Did you try the correct website I gave you in the PM ? You can get a very straight (true) answer from Ed about availability.....

Yea Mark my local dealer told me it first. I left a message with Ed and he called me back and checked and said the same thing. He said he might be able to find one but would be close to full list if I wanted it right away. Ed was real nice and a straight shooter on the phone and answered email within a hour or so. I put him into my ford contact folder.

thanks Mike
