New Truck with orange peel paint

Hey guys, I just bought a 2007 F-350 XLT red clearcoat 6.0 with a plow a couple days ago and I just noticed that the paint has a ton of "orange peel" in it. I looked at my fathers truck which is a 1999 and the paint looks better on his than mine. I am going there tommorrow because the paint on the tailgate looks like they tried to buff something out and it scratched up the clearcoat, but I was wondering if I should ask them to try and fix the orange peel? How would they go about it? Is it worth it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin.

Re: New Truck with orange peel paint

That's what I noticed while doing a bit of curious looking at a new 08 last week. It was raining and could still see the orange peel through all the water beading up. It was pretty much the entire left side of the tailgate.

The sales guy attributed it to robotic painters.

[/ QUOTE ]My .02 Heck yeah I would have them fix it!! these trucks cost too much to have crappy paint jobs.Take it back to the dealer be polite but firm about it.If they give you a lot of static, just ask the G.M if he would put up with that on his truck & see what they say! Good luck let us know what happens.

Re: New Truck with orange peel paint

You might keep in mind that a repainted truck for what ever reason could possibly affect resale value. Sometimes the medicine is worse than the problem........
