notice the truck is taking a while to start..

06 6.0L 54k miles, same batteries from when it was bought...

I have been noticed my truck has been taking a little longer to start up when i turn the ignition. Sometimes I will have to try 2 or 3 times holding the ignition for prolonged periods of time.

I have drained any water from the fuel system by removing the plug under the cab along the frame rail. I have checked both batteries for good connections and all is good there.

What could it be that is causing this? It used to crank it very quickly. Yes, I do wait for the coil/spring light to go away in the dash before turning it over.

It's possible that its a high pressure oil leak, but I would get the batteries tested before I invested any time getting the truck checked out.

I think my stock batteries lated untill about 75-80k miles.

I had this issue on my 7.3 turned out one battery was bad. Be sure to disconnect one if you have them tested so they are tested individually. I replaced both batteries and now it fires right up.
