Does anyone know where to get a replacement Overhead Computer (I think they call it a Driver Information Center) module replacementfor a 2000 F350 Lariat? Mine died and the dealer cost is rediculous!!

Gosh, old timers has set in but I think there was a thread on repairing these. Something about parts coming loose and all that is needed is to resolder. It is worth a look see, maybe spot some other minor trouble by taking it apart and having a look see.
I have already took it apart and looked for the obvious signs of bad solder joints, etc. It appears to be the display; There is a burn spot in the upper left corner of the display. There are varying voltages to the different pins on the display, which probably indicates that the computer chip is feeding the display signals. If you remember/find the thread that you mentioned, it might be helpful. I'll keep looking to see if I can find it. Thanks for the info!!
My display has that spot also, not a problem. The resistors are in an area next to the display mount if I recall and there are two rows close to each other of about 3 or so per row. I soldered one that came loose and that fixed the problem. After 1 year it started dimming again and I found two others that had come loose. Re-soldered and all is fine. Look for the real small rectangle shaped resistors about the width of a toothpick.

Found the link to the old thread Thanks

After re-inspecting the board, found one end of one of the subject resitors was indeed loose. Pressed back down, resistance check, and a quick hookup for a test and WALLA...it worked. No to resolder them .
Are you going to resolder?
If you pushed it back down it's only contacting the broken solder and the other side is now weak.
I strongly suggest you solder both sides of any resistor that is loose.
will get you to my webpage with pics on fixing your overhead trip computer.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
