Paint wear on door A-Pillar area

Has anyone had the paint on their door wearing/rubbing off due to the door seal? Mine has completely worn through along the A-pillar part of the door where it touches the secondary seal.

Thanks.

Bill

Re: Paint wear on door A-Pillar area

Mine is doing the exact same thing! I was debating on taking it to the dealership and asking what's up or just living with it. I live in the Midwest with lot's of salt during the winter and it's only a matter of time before it starts rusting. I want to keep my truck for a long time but don't like the idea of a bad paint job.

Re: Paint wear on door A-Pillar area

Is it wearing through? Or is there discoloration from the seal? Years ago when this was FordDiesel.com there were a lot of discussions about this and many people had repaints just to find out the problem returning pretty quick.

Yep rear door drivers side at the top front is wearing off. looks like my alignment is of a little and the top off the door needs to be pulled out a few MM.

Re: Paint wear on door A-Pillar area

I noticed what looked like a rusty line on my passenger door weatherstrip on the A-pillar. Looked at the door, and could see where the paint had rubbed off from rubbing in that area. I'm going to do a little touch-up paint in that area and see how long it lasts.

Re: Paint wear on door A-Pillar area

The paint is rubbing off due to door movement. Mine's doing it also.

Too extensive to list.

Days in shop so far 71 and counting as they still have it.

34K miles.

After spending a month in the shop and having it back only 2 weeks, it's back in the shop. Ford Customer service refused to send me a DSB Package. Told me the info is in the back of manual. Well truck is in shop and I don't have the info can you give it to me? No, it's in the manual.

I agree, but is there a fix to the door movement. Both my front doors have this problem
