Pull the release lever and pull up on the park park by hand, or you could try setting the park brake then pull the release lever rapidly. If i pull the release lever on mine too slowly the light will stay on so maybe yours is the same way.

I have to reset the brake and release it again, sometimes 2 or 3 times, to get it to release.

Would start by checking brake light switch on the brake pedal

I do not believe that it is the switch. Because when it is fully released the light does go off. When the light is on I can feel the E brake dragging. I believe it is the mechanism binding or dragging somehow.

Check your brake fluid. Not sure about these trucks but traditionally the same light is used to indicate low fluid.

Found the culprit, The rubber bumper on the top of the foot lever that hits the switch is damaged, did a temp fix, but that isn't likely to last much longer than a few weeks.

anyone know the part number?

I have the opposite problem.......my light won't come on unless I fiddle around with the sensor at the top of the release. So every time I want to use my AIC or let the truck idle up in the cold I have to poke around until it comes on.
