Radio Stays on When I Turn The Key Off????

Yesterday I had a little gremlin show up in my truck. After I turned the key off and opened the door the radio stayed on. I believe the problem is my ignition.

Any other ideas???

Hmmm. Mine normally stays on until I open the door. Maybe the door sensor is gummed up?

Re: Radio Stays on When I Turn The Key Off????

I believe the door switch is OK because my dome light works as advertised. My 99 does not have the option that keeps the radio on until the door is opened. At least for the last 175K miles is hasn't.

Re: Radio Stays on When I Turn The Key Off????

Is it only the radio that stays on? Try the wipers to see if they stay on as well.

My radio will stay on and the windows will roll up and down until I open the door and then it all shuts off. Haven't tried the wipers.

Re: Radio Stays on When I Turn The Key Off????

Ozhoo,

I owe you a cold one. When I got off work I tried the wipers and they worked with no key in the ignition. A relay was clicking under the dash so I cycled the wipers and the wipers and the radio turned off.

I drove home and when I shut off the truck the radio and wiper shut off as advertised.

Is there a relay under the dash that is sticking or is this my ignition switch.

Thanks for the help.
