Replacing front bench

Hi,

Hope I'm posting this in the right place, did a search but still have a few questions.

I'm looking at a 2006 XL-trim Superduty which comes with a vinyl front 40/20/40. It looks like any 40/20/40 will bolt right in - is that correct?

Also, will the wiring be there for power seats? If not, is it just a simple 12V hookup or more complicated than that?

Thanks in advance for any input, if this is simple enough I'll make an offer on the truck (I can't live with vinyl...)!

Best,
Charlie

I've swapped consoles and seats for trucks 99-present without trouble. I don't know about the power circuit, but it can be too difficult to wire up yourself.

Don't get it. The 06 has a 'bench' 40/20/40 vinyl which you want to replace with a leather one the same size?? My XL has a bench but is straight across like a "bench" seat?

Ahh, im thinking the original author is looking at a truck with XL trim and doesnt want the stock bench seat. the straight across vinyl. He wants to upgrade to an XLT model bench seat being a 40-20-40 and power options. any seating configuration that is in that same generation of truck will bolt in. The powerfor the options may or may not be there, but you can buy a wiring harness from the dealership and go from there, or hardwire your own in.

Thanks for the input. The XL I'm looking at actually has a 40/20/40, but in vinyl. I just used "bench" to differentiate from captain's chairs. It appears the 40 sections are different in shape than the cloth seats from an XLT, so I don't just want to get it reupholstered.

I think I'll just pick up a manual cloth 40/20/40 and be set!

Thanks.
