Replacing stock tires on an 04' FX4 PSD Crew Cab

265/75-R16 BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A's are on there now. They have 32K on them and have a few more miles yet to go on them.

Looking for something that will be "E" load rated, all season more than "off road", quieter and longer lasting....

Suggestions based on experience only please.

I just put 265/75/r16 Michelin LTX M/S on my truck and they are E rated from NTB. The cost was somewhere around $185 but the guy gave them to me for $175. HTH

Based on experience... In process of selecting new tires, same size and load range. Not many to choose from. Looking at the Nitto from Discount Tire, good price free delivery, I will mount and balance them myself. Wanted BF Goodriches, A/Ts. Bites!, No Load Range Es. If I cannot get the Nittos or find out they are from China, I will go with the Frenchy Michelins

I was looking specifically at these tires you mention on tirerack.com. They have them listed for $171 each

They have an average rating of like 8.7 of a possible 10.

Sounds like you just got your's but how do you like them so far?

I run a landscaping company so I'm looking for dry pavement wear and traction.

Crapper - I'm at 64k miles on my stock BFG Rugged Trail and they still look like I'm gonna make it to 80k or so.

My second set has always been BFG TAKOs, but for a road tire - Michelin LTX MS can't be beat.

Replaced my 235/85 Generals with 265/75 LTX M/S @ 46K ($802 mounted balanced & taxed). Now have 70K miles & very satisfied. More bite while parking/retrieving my 16' gooseneck in the field, better road response and very quiet. Next replacement will consider the 285/75.

Re: Replacing stock tires on an 04' FX4 PSD Crew Cab

Just replaced the stock Firestone Steeltex tires on my '01 with Toyo Open Country A/Ts. These are 265/75/16Es. Was concerned that they would be noisy on the road but they are very quiet and handle very well. Belle Tire charged me $675 installed.

Hope this helps.
