Replacing Stock Tires... Need Help

I have a 2005 F350 6.0. The stock tires are 275 70 R18 I am having a hard time finding tires due to the rim size. I don't have any kind of lift, I tow up to 9000lbs. daily so I need a good load rating. Would like to get something like a pro comp or nitto any thought or opinions would be greatly appreciated Thanks.

It sounds like you want an AllTerrain or MudTerrain tread. If so, you have several choices in size LT275/70R18E.

My choice would be Michelin LTX AT2, but those are a mite expensive.

Other choices include:
Toyo Open Country M/T (http://marktg.toyotires.com/file/18136.pdf)
Bridgestone Dueler A/T
Firestone Transforce A/T
Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor
Kumho Road Ventire A/T

You can see all the above but the Toyo at TireRack.com = TireRack: LT275/70R18. Ignore all the all season treads at the top of the list. Scroll down to the AllTerrain treads at the end of the list, then click on page 2 to see the Michelin.

And of course the most famous brand is BFGoodrich AllTerrain. They don't make exactly that size, but they do make LT285/65R18E, which is a hair wider and a hair shorter than your stock size. The AllTerrains will fit just fine and dandy on your truck. You can see those at TireRack too, to compare relative prices with the others above. TireRack: LT285/65R18.

Another brand you won't find at TireRack is Cooper. Cooper makes great tires at reasonable prices. The have three different tires that may be what you want. All three are load range E and size LT275/70R18E in the Cooper Discoverer brand:

ATR = mild A/T tread
ST = agressive A/T Tread
STT = off-road wild man tread.
Cooper Tires - LT275/70R18E

Cooper also makes the Mickey Thompson brand. And yes, you can get that size in a Mickey Thompson tire too - The Baja MTZ Radial: Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels

You mentioned the Nitto brand. Guess what. Nitto makes your size too, and you can get them at Discount Tire: 275/70-18 Nitto Tires

ProComp? Well, not exactly, but close enough. They make an LT275/65R18E in their AllTerrain tread. I didn't look at their more agressive treads, but you might want to. ProComp All Terrain

Back when your truck was new, you had a legitimate gripe that not much choice in tires were available for your truck. But today you have a lot of choices.
