rickson wheels and 19.5 tires

whose running them, why and are they worth it? is the mileage really that much better? Do you really need more than an E rating on SRW?

Any other vendors for 19.5's out there?

Re: rickson wheels and 19.5 tires

If you were hauling a camper on the back, or towed a HEAVY trailer I would seriously consider them, They are supposed to drive much better, sidewalls stiffer, and wear sooo much longer it is not funny.
Defiantely makes a SRW more tow friendly. (I went to the dually for legal reasons, I would have gotten the ricksons for my 99 if I didnt.) there was a set in the "For sale" section for a good price a while back!

Don't worry about it, just go here http://www.suburbanseats.com/pickup_truck_seats.htm and get the Air Suspension Seat Peddistals.

Re: rickson wheels and 19.5 tires

Lasting milage? Or fuel milage? Both could improve somewhat,, They are a much harder compound so they wear well,,,they are narrower than stock , less rolling resistance, and maybe taller, so could change the gear ratio a bit!

Re: rickson wheels and 19.5 tires

street miles, not mpg. i figured with the weight, the MPG would go down, especially with the tire diameter change over stock as well.

Re: rickson wheels and 19.5 tires

I'm running them because my rear axle weight can reach 7000 lbs with a loaded camper, and load range E tires are not enough. I didn't do any mileage comparisons. I wouldn't buy them unless you plan on carrying very heavy loads, but then they are worth it for the safety and the peace of mind.
