Simple disabling PSD. Changing Ing. Cylinder

Somebody tried to steal my 01 PSD 7.3

They jimmied the door and busted the ignition cylinder. Does anyone know how to change the ignition cyl. I took it out once to do the dinger delete but Im sure I had to put it in neutral. With the busted cyl I cant unlock the key to put it in neutral now. How do I get around this.

Also, is there a easy way to kill my superduty so no one steal it once its fixed. I would usually just pull the distibuter cap wire (in my stang)but not so easy on a diesel. ( I pulled both batteries in the mean time )

It really pisses me off. I've spent so much on it and someone is messing with all my hard work. On the up side I had a chance to pull my computer and send it to DP.

Any help would be great
P.J.

You could just pull the PCM power relay and take it with you. It isn't going to start without a working PCM.

Also there's a replacement relay that works with a key fob or cig lighter plug-in available from Cyclops that would do essentially the same thing. The relay doesn't work without either the fob or plug-in in place.

Yeah, thats the kind of idea I was looking for.... I only occasionally use my PSD in the cold winter days. I'll totally do that. At least it'll be there when I need it

There is no way to get it out without turning it with a key or otherwise having to drill it out and then turn it with a screwdriver or similar tool.

Thats what I kinda figured...otherwise one dude with a superduty could pretty much rip off anyone elses truck

I also gotta look into those jimmie jammer plates to put behind my handles.

Maybe a good 2 way alarm on silient and louisville slugger could help

Tie that 2 way alarm in with a gps tracking system and it can send you txt msgs when the alarm is going off. Also allows for shutting the truck down remotely.

I would love to see the look on someone's face when my junk goes to idle while they are going down the road and they cannot drive it anymore.

I was actually able to get the ignition turning with a screw driver. It would have been long gone if my batteries werent frozen solid... It happened my DP computer came ... This thing is a monster ....

Anyway, my deductable is 500 bucks how hard is to change the door handle. the ignition should be easy now that it turns. Any idea ??

This is just an idea that I've recently thought of. I don't know how good of an idea it is though. I was thinking of mounting a remote toggle switch somewhere out of sight, where only you or other operators of the truck know where it is. This switch could be used to bypass the brake-interlock switch that allows the truck to be taken out of park upon someone stepping on the brake. So my whole theory is to be able to flip the switch off when exiting the truck, so if someone else gets in the truck, manages to get to the point of being able to get it running, they won't be able to remove it from park. Granted, this would all depend on the strength of the system that retains the shift lever in the park position, of which I really am not familiar with. So someone chime in and tell me why this really isn't a good idea. I know someone will know better. It was just my bright idea of the day. =)

Or, what about wiring a hidden toggle switch to the starter solenoid to switch if off when you're not in the truck. Seems that this would keep the truck from even getting started. just my .02 cents worth

^^ You mean something like this?

Great idea! Racing ignition switch is really cool! It's the same as what they have in race cars right?

Dont know if Im supposed to say this or not but patrol cars have the shifter lock taken off the brake pedal and rewired to a foot switch that is hidden under the carpet. In order to put the car in gear you have to know where to press your foot on the floor.

Not in any MP car that I've driven, but good idea.
