Slick 50 for diesel question

My local pep boys had the slick 50 for diesels that is regularly 20 bucks marked down to 4 dollars,so I bought the remaining 4. I remember years ago about a mechanic telling me to only leave slick 50 in the engine for 500 or 1000 miles because it kind of gells in the pan after the teflon is deposited around the motor. Any truth to this? I have a 6.0 with 36k, any feedback would be appreciated. I'm thinking about adding it in the middle of my change cycle although S50 recommends adding with new oil.

Don't waste your time. I used it years ago in my old '74 Chevy Blazer. I didn't notice any improvement in anything (milage, cooling, etc). Fortunately that old 350 was pretty much bullet proof so it didn't matter what I put in it...it would still run and leak regardless. Bottom line...I had better results just keeping it oiled without all of the fancy and unproven addatives.

Boomer: MHO-->Never use the Slick 50 product in your 6.0L.
Look into this product--> Lubrication Specialties | Diesel Motor Oil | Primrose Engine Oil | Fuel Additives | Oil Additives | Engine Restore|

They put many yrs of research into this product. Hot Shot's Secret.
They designed it basically for the 6.0L but it works awesome within my 7.3L.

Slick 50, Tuffoil, and many other "snake oil" additives DO NOT work. Even Dupont w/ it trademarked "Teflon" has wriiten technical articles not to use Teflon in an ICE.

The Teflon will clump together, causing blockage in the oil galleries of an ICE. This will give a premature death to the powerplant.

Bottom line -stay away from these oil additives, stick w/ what the manufacturer recommends.
