Steering box question...

Anyone know how to tighten the internal components in the steering box? Maybe you can't, but mine is noticably lose.

Thanks,

Re: Steering box question...

Find a workshop manual.... look up steering gear mesh preload adjustment over centre..... This is a crucial adjustment and, if botched, can make every ride a white knuckle ride. Misadjustment may leave you with a steering box that is near impossible to adjust properly.

I highly recommend becoming familiar with steering box basics before setting out on adjustments.

Re: Steering box question...

This Thread will tell you how to do the adjustments. Like Grampy_Jim said these steering boxes can be easily messed up, I'll guarantee, you will not want to drive the truck if it is incorrectly set, it's a hand full.
