Stupid Question About Tuner

Hey guys I'm new to the tuner thing so go easy on me. Last month I had an SCT Tuner installed on my 7.3 and today I got around to getting my triple A piller gauges installed. Do I need to reset the tuner or anything since the gauges were put in since I'm sure they disconnected the battery while working on the truck. I've left the tuner on the 65HP setting since I've had it installed.

Re: Stupid Question About Tuner

Nope, dont need to do anything. You can remove power to the computer and it does not "lose" the programming. If you want to confirm that, just hook your tuner back up and it should report that a setting is currently installed and ask you if you want to change it or return to stock.

Re: Stupid Question About Tuner

So far the SCT tuner is great! I'm not looking to have the fastest truck out there I just wanted to firm up my shifts to make up for my 38 inch tires, make a little extra power and increase my mileage a bit. It's done all of the above. The three settings I have are 40hp, 65hp and 75hp and I've had it on 65hp since I got it. The tuner was programmed while my truck was on a dyno. So far the highest EGT I've hit was 900 but I've been driving somewhat mellow.

Oh yeah and thanks for the answers guys. This site is great. Most of the time you can get an answer on this site faster than you can make a phone call.
