Tail / brake lights keep coming on

HI,

I have a 2004 F250 6.0 Diesel and recently the tail lights keep going on and off at all time of the day and night. Today I could not get it started and am charging the battery. My neighbor mentioned that he noticed the tail lights going on and off at night. Has anyone had this prob and is it an easy fix?

Thanks alot!

Do you have an anti-theft system?

Hi,

No anti theft. I'm thinking it might have something to do with turning my light switch to the left which put's it in the auto mode where the lights go on automatically when it senses dark. I turned the light switch to off (manual) position and I'll see what happens. Thats all I can think of. Thanks for helping!

Well........that didn't work! It's definately the brake lights that go on and off. Last night I watched as they would go on for a couple of minutes (the rear brake lights and the brake light on the upper rear cab) then go off. Unreal. If this helps, I do have a "brake buddy" installed for trailer hauling...

Thanks for any help!
