Tow Boss Package

What exactly is this package??

It says 4.30 gears and 26000lb CGVWR, but what else do they do other than the gear increase from 4.10's to get the extra CGVWR?

Just curious

Re: Tow Boss Package

TowBoss begins with an F-350 DRW with PSD engine, automatic tranny, and TowCommand system. With 3.73 or 4.10 axle ratio, the GCWR is 23,000 pounds. But with the 4.30 rear end, the GCWR goes up to 26,000 pounds.

So yeah, basically it's just the 4.30 rear end.

Similar to back in the '94-'97 models, identical pickups with different rear end ratios had different GCWR. 3.55 was 16,000, while 4.10 was 20,000.

GCWR depends on how much weight a tow vehicle can tow while climbing a certain grade at a certain speed without overheating anything. With a 4.30 rear end, you can tow more weight up that mountain at that speed without overheating anything than with lesser rear ends.
