Trailer Light/Aux Light Question????

Hopefully this is the right forum for this question.

I currently have some aux back-up lights in my Ranch Hand bumper that I tapped into the wire for the reverse lights of my truck to come on when I'm in reverse. On my old truck, I switched these lights with a hot (fused) from my battery to a switch where I could turn these on with the truck in park when I was hooking up a boat or etc. for light.

I'm about to wire some reverse lights into my boat trailer that will come on with the 7-way harness. My question is can I switch this in the truck to come on when the truck is in park? In other words, I want the reverse lights to come on the trailer when my truck is in park. I'm not sure where the 7-way harness gets it's "hot" from if you will. Any help is appreciate.

Re: Trailer Light/Aux Light Question????

All you have to do is find the reverse wire in the harness behind the 7-way plug, cut it, and wire it to a switch.

I used my #1 upfitter switch (but adding your own switch is fine) to feed my aux. backup lights and also to feed the reverse wire for my trailer.
