Trailer Wiring

I have just purchased a 2002 F250 crew cab to pull my fifth wheel. I have installed brake controllers and trailer wiring in other vehicles. But they were older. I was wondering if my newer vehicle had any sort of convinient quick connections to make the job easier? Or do I do it the same as always: splice the connections for three wires rt, lt, taillights into the wires runnig by the frame near the rear axle; one ground wire; run two new wires back. one for 12v, the other from the brake controller?

If the previous owner didn't tow with it, it may still be in the bag in the glove box. The pigtail is there as well as the relay and the fuses you need to install to activate the in-line battery charging as well as the electric brake circuit.

i bought a prodigy controller...but didn't use the factory wiring that came with the truck. I used a "plug n play" harness for it that camping world sold..looks very clean!

as for the fifth wheel wiring...just buy an extension plug like others stated..also very easy...and drill a hole in your bed or wherever you want it. DONE
