Turn Signals Not Working?

Out of the blue, my turn signals stopped working today. I checked the #18 fuse under the dash (in addition to all of the fuses) and it was fine. I also looked for one of those round metalic looking blinkers but couldn't find one. Any ideas?

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

Just dead stopped?

Mine recently started acting funny on right turns. It'll hyper-blink but the lights aren't blinking, it just sounds like it. I have to put a little pressure on the wand towards neutral and it starts working right. It's annoying. Left works fine.

If it's dead and you've checked everything, can you find anything else that's dead or acting up?

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

there is 2 fuses under the hood 20a that feed both sides. the flasher is under the dash toward the center above the accellerator pedal just below the radio. if you have a strong back you'll have to crawl under the dash to get to it. it has a black snap on cover on it & it is the blue relay. its an electronic solid state type.

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

The multifunction switch is going south. Have replaced two all ready, $100 for the unit.

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

Or it could be a blown bulb. If one goes out on one side, that side will flash rapidly or not at all. Happened on my F150 and my Exloder

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

They stopped working altogether. I had no choice but to use the truck this morning and I had to put my hazards on in a parking lot for a couple of minutes due to where I was parked. When I jumped back in, I took off and turned the hazards off. It was then that I realized that the hazards worked...so I tried the turn signals and they both worked again. Problem solved. But I'm not to confident that it won't happen again.

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

Mine was doing this for a while. Happened to be the bulb filament hadn't completely broken away but had broken at one end and would intermittantly (sp) act up. Went away after replacing bulbs.

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

Kind of surprised that no one said anything about checking the fluid...

Re: Turn Signals Not Working?

Figured that was the first thing they'd do. After all, if they don't know enough to check the blinker fluid, they shouldn't be working on their own truck...TAKE IT TO THE SHOP!!!
