Undercarriage mod

I have been thinking about mounting some ?? material on the underside that would streamline it. Anyone got any ideas as to what material would work the best? I have considered using sheet metal, plywood that I cover in fiberglass, ???

I would expect to see a slight increase in MPG as well as a little bit quieter at hwy speed.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Tony, I've been thinking on this one as well.... I think plastic, aluminum, or stainless is the way to go. Plastic would be ideal as it is lightweight, but the temperature problems exists, melting and all. So aluminum gets my vote. Buy it in sheets and come up with a 'pattern' that remains somewhat consistent along the whole underside. The first thing would be to make some mounts that attach and hang down that you bolt the aluminum sheet to. If you have the means to make these then you will be all set. Keep us posted on your progress if you take this on. I cannot lower my truck, 4x4, so I am very interested.
I think plywood and fiberglass is a fire hazard and would weigh too much.
