Vibration caused by steering arm?

Hi there,
I'm getting a vibration that can be felt on the steering wheel when going down the road.
I think I may have found the cause but I'm not sure.

I've greased and re-greased the ends of the rod that connects the steering arm (pitman arm?) to the tie rod on the passengers side and it doesn't seem to do any good.
The ends are always loose. I can grab the bar and make it twist with my hands and it can turn so far as to clunk against the tie rod.

Can this be causing my vibration when going down the road?

I'd say it has more to do with tires, brakes/rotors or wheel bearings.

The bar you are talking about being loose, that's normal. If you want to test it get a friend in the cab and have him rock the steering wheel back and forth with the engine off.

Any loose steering linkages will be easier to spot that way.

i have the same truck as you, when i had a vibration up front, i noticed that it did it more when i turned 4x4 on and found out, thew hubs were going internally and that was the problem.
that or the needle bearings on the front hubs

Thanks for the info.
I'm hoping over thanksgiving break here I can get the tires rotated and I will see if I can inspect the hub bearings again.
Plus I found out recently on guzzle's site that the hubs can be broken down and greased so I might check that out as well since the truck is at 111k and they haven't been worked over.
