I never noticed any difference, It was cranking fine then one morning i was backing out of drivway and the truck shut off, I tought it was the Cam sensor so i changed it but nothing. It was battery time.
Most (if not all) computer controlled vehicles won't run if the voltage falls below a certain point. There isn't really any fall off in performance, although if at night you will notice your headlights getting dim, they just shut off below a certain battery voltage.

Recently my engine would crank, but not fire up. I assumed it was the CPS so I bought one and installed it.
Nope, that wasn't it.
So I called the wrecker and had the pickup hauled to the Ford house. The tech charged up the batteries and then it started and ran like a new one.
So enough battery to crank the engine does not necessarily mean enough battery to fire up the engine.

My Sierra Blanca in the sig pic was a great pickup for 11.5 years. I sold it last year. Replacement is a 2012 F-150 EcoBoost SuperCrew Lariat.
I know when I changed the batteries in my 97, it made a world of difference, a snappier, quicker start up! I got about 6 years off my factory batteries, they were due!

Hmmm, let me see . . . I had to call my friend from down the street who owns a DODGE to jump my truck so Walmart could do the install. Not even his highly modified Cummins could get my rig going. Ended up taking the factory batt's out, riding to Wal-Mart (IN A DODGE). and buying the batteries.) Buy TWO.
