What Paint for Toolbox?

I have a toolbox in my truck bed and I think it is polished aluminum diamond plate. I want to paint it glossy black. In its current condition it weathered. What paint/primer should I use and what type of prep should I give it?

The best case would be to sand blast or bead blast to remove all rust and wearthering. Not being able to do that, if you use a good degreaser (superKleen by Castrol) or similar you should be able to get all the oils out of the surface. Diamond plate is a PITA to "sand". You can use a good steel wool, just start with say "0" depending on how rough the surface is and work your way up to "0000". If your using rattle can primer then I would use a good red oxide to help with rust prevention. Access to spray gun..I would use a good epoxy based primer. As far as color, I would think a "ceramic" engine paint would hold up the best. I have sprayed parts and then waited about 15 minutes and gone back with a heat gun to speed the cure. Only thing with ceramic paint is it takes 5 days to fully cure.
