Could you be more specific. What puck and in which truck? The only thing under my mirror is the entire dash board.

it looks like a small hockey puck and it attached to the bottom of the rear view on my 06

Auto dimming rear-view mirror sensor.

It's the flux-gate for the compass in the instrument cluster. There's a small reset button on the top L rear for calibrating it. Check your owner's manual for instructions.

The mirror's electric eyes are built into the mirror.

i have wondered that on my brothers 05, so where is the sensor for my 03 with the compass in the overhead console? is it built into the overhead thingy?
