Wheel size question, 02 and 06

I had an '02 F-250 SD 4x4 CC SB Lariat and I have an extra set of the factory wheels that came on the truck that I'm selling locally.

This is not an ad, these wheels are far from perfect and not worth shipping anywhere - that's why they're in storage. I bought an identical good set from a member here.

Anyway, I got a call from a guy with an '06 F-250 SD, he said his wheels were the base steel versions. He asked me if they'd swap out straight. I don't know, but told him I'd check. Did these two trucks come with the same size rims?

'99-'04 rims are the same, and '05-up rims are the same. But '05-up rims will not fit a '99-'04 and vice versa. Although the hole pattern is the same for SRW pickups, the offset is a lot different. Plus your 16" rims will not fit over the brake calipers of an '05-up truck. That's why they have at least 17" diameter wheels.

So tell the guy with the '06 that he needs rims from an '05-up SuperDuty to put on his '06. Lots of them are available.

Smokey, somehow I knew I'd hear from you. Hate to lose a sale, but thanks for the info. I'll change my ad to read 'fits 99-04 Super Duty' and that should take care of it.

Thanks.

I just had a guy call with an F-350. Will the 99-04 F-250 wheels work on F-350's of the same years?

Thanks for the help.

F-350 SRW, yes. F-350 DRW, of course not.
