Where is the cabin filter located?

I see cabin filters shown in the parts store inventory. Where are they located in our trucks?? Can you get at them easily?

Re: Where is the cabin filter located?

The 99+ Super Duty platform vehicles do not have a cabin filter. The parts store computers are wrong, who knows why they have ever shown them to begin with.

You don't have a cabin filter. If you read the fine print in the filter catalogs you will see that it requires the use of an optional cabin filter kit from Ford. They will even list the Ford part number. Problem is, that part isn't available from Ford.

Re: Where is the cabin filter located?

If you mount it on the fenderwell on the passenger side, it makes for some interesting discussions with Dodge owners.

Just take that worthless cab filter and duck tape it to the wheel well and when you're at the local choke n' puke, lift your hood and tell them you have the latest Dodge eater flatulater filter. Then smile real big and tell them they'll see it in the next Diesel Power Magazine and that you're one of the few test vehicles. You'll be Boss.

Re: Where is the cabin filter located?

Ford doesn't make a cabin filter for our pickups, but there is one aftermarket cabin filter some have tried. It goes on the cowl intake for the HVAC fresh air.

Most folks like them because it filters out pollen. Pollen makes it unbearable for some folks with alergies some months of the year if they don't have a good cabin air filter.

Out here in the desert, folks like the cabin filters because it reduces the amount of dust floating around inside the cab.

I don't have one on my pickup, and my dash is always coated with a film of dust.

Re: Where is the cabin filter located?

I just did a search engine on cabin filters and find site after site sellling a big square cabin filter for our trucks---problem is there is no big holder for it under the glovebox as all their documents show. We do not seem to have one so why are so many companies selling them?
