Windows not rolling moving

Has anyone had this problem. When I first start my truck, there is a period of time, around 1 or 2 minutes that my windows will not roll down. I can push any of the window switches and nothing happens. After about 1 or 2 minutes everything kicks in and the windows will roll down. What could this be.

Re: Windows not rolling moving

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago but it never "self corrected." It turned out to be a wire chafing and then shorting out near the overhead interior light in the cab, you have to rip out the headliner to get to it. It took the shop all day to trace the problem and cost me $500.

Re: Windows not rolling moving

That could be the problem. My overhead computer went out about 2 months ago when the problem started. I bet that is the problem.

Thanks.

Re: Windows not rolling moving

I had the same problem with a '02. I let it ride for awhile. It ended up burning my switch out on the drivers door ($110). When the windows won't work pop off the fuse panel and check the large metal circuit breaker, careful it gets very hot! I found mine to be a shorted wire in the drivers side rear door where the wire comes through the rubber boot from the center post to the door. It was shorting out against the window track in the door.
