1994 F350 Won't turn over

I am new to the forum and have a 1994 F-350 with 7.3 Powerstroke I've had for years. I replaced the batteries in January just because they were old and slow and drove the truck a few times. It then sat for 3 weeks when I discovered I left my back up camera (add on) turned on. The batteries were dead so I charged them. I then turned on the key, lights came on the dash as usual, but when I turned the key nothing happened. I went to the solenoid and jumped the terminals and it turned over. I then turned the key to the start position and jumped the terminals again and it started. This surprised me since I thought the clutch pedal needed to be pushed down for that to happen. Am I looking at a bad ignition switch that is just a coincidence after sitting?

If you are jumping the terminals on the solenoid on the fender then you are bypassing any safety features such as the clutch pedal switch.

Is that switch located on the base of the clutch pedal? I guess when they decide to go, they just go? I wasn't even using the truck.

I just read through some clutch switch posts and have some direction now on where and what to check. I recall heating a slight click when I depressed the clutch pedal over the past few months and didn't know what I was hearing. I don't drive this truck much any longer so putting this off probably led to this issue. I appreciate the feedback guys!
