I purchased a cheep 1996 F250 regular cab with auto and 74000 miles. It was used in road constuction and is very dirty. The stock air intake had a hole in it. I pulled it all off and it looks like something got into to turbo. The outer 4 fan blades are bent but it still spins up. The tube infront of it is full of gunk. I was going to replace the intake with an aftermarket one and rebuild the turbo. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which intake to buy. Is there a rebuild procedure out there for the turbo? I'm new to the diesel seen but it doesn't seem too difficult. I plan on to use it for towing. Already have plans to replace the exhaust because it has the cat. Any suggestions as to that. Also plan on using the supperchips programmer. Any advise would be much appreiated.
Thanks for the info. I still have the orange boot and will have the address that as well. As for the gunk in the line mine is worse than the photos you gave me. I do believe its from the crank case though. Its just worse because of the big hole after the filter. Its been sucking air/dirt in without going through the filter. Any suggestions on the right exhaust. Thanks again in advance.
