1996 f350 7.3 psd sick truck

Hey guys new to the fourm there has been some good advice. hoping that someone can help me with my 1996 F350 navistar psd with 332000 miles odm. when I start the truck up cold it fires right up and idles great runs like a champ. after it get warmed up 15 to 20 min if I shut it down it has trouble starting again the rpm will bounce up and down irracticly. if I apply fuel it for 30 to 45 secounds it wold settle doown and idle fine. I have changed the IPR Oring and have installed new oring on all off my injectors same problem. also when I slow down to a stop my rpm's will drop like it is going to die to about 300 and then bounce back up to about 600 rpm and the rpms will bounce up and down about 200 rpms at idle. My trans has been shiffting iratticly if I let off the fuel it will shift hard but it will go thourgh all the gears it drive great at highy speed 65-75 mph no problems, If any one has experriance I just to not know were to start to fix this sick truck.

Welcome to the forum. I was thinking first in the IPR o-rings, but you already change them (are they well installed?), but now I will think in the CPS, give it a try, its cheap right now and is good to have a spare in your glove box.

It is only a 15 minute fix if you have a spare one.

Talking

If you feel bad for the first oily pic I posted above, check this one:
P4160092 pictures from trucks photos on webshots

You dont have to take out anything to change the CPS, that pics are only to show you where is the CPS located.

Hey guys sorry for the late return on the ideas but had a busy weekend my weekends are in the middle of the week and I work the lovley graveyard shift. I forgot to tell .I changed the cps serval months ago I had same problem with the hot restart. after I changed the injector orings my truck had a little more pick up when it takes off. Some one told me maybe the IPR itself is going bad with the milage I have on the truck.
any other ideas I am all ears guys.

The data suggest a IPR problem, if you changed the o-ring, maybe the IPR is bad itself, maybe you should think to change it and see what happens.
