Every time I take off from a complete stop it feels like I have the parking brake on and I have to apply significant pressure to overcome, it feels like it hops a little its really pissing me off considering that this is a ford certified remanned tranny that only has 2500 miles on it. Anybody got advice on this? I used to say I loved my obs but this thing is a freaking headache.
Are you sure its the transmission?
If you are hearing a loud "hissing" sound at low RPM's - your EBV (exhaust engine warm up valve) might be sticking closed.
No that always cycles through roughly 10 seconds after start and I always warm the truck up for 10 min before I drive it no matter what. And its nothing to do with temp because I live in Florida. I wish you were right though lol
Maybe you do have a brake that's sticking, and not releasing until some power is applied. Try coasting to a stop without using the brake, then taking off again, see how it accelerates then.
It's the transmission, trust me. Look at the forum, we have 20yr old trucks and 50% or more posts involve that stupid, stupid transmission. Back then dealers never had manuals in stock, so most opted for what was on hand. Anyone smart went to dealers in farm country where they didn't want to play games with junk. Oh well those days are gone and now all trucks are garbage. Sad.
Definitely not brakes also because reverse is fine and once I get up to speed is okay, also its having trouble shifting out of first like it'll free rev real high before slipping its way into 2nd again this trans is brand new so I'm lost. PS the free rev problem started on my way home from work.
Was it doing it on the old transmission? If not, then contact whoever sold you the transmission. They obviously need to make it work on warranty.
