A couple weeks ago I drove my truck to work and it would not start in the morning. It was a very cold morning, around 26 degrees. I tried until the batteries died then had it towed home.
I have a superchip tuner it was set to performance.
Ended up replacing both batteries and all the fuses under the hood and dash.
I have a block heater and it has been plugged in and working.
My code reader came back with the cps code. I replaced the cps twice. When the old cps was in the tach worked, now it does not. I thought the first replacement bad because of this. It still doesnt move after the second one.
Please help, I cant afford a mechanic and need my truck badly as it is my only transportation option.
Thanks

Are you getting the wait to start light? Also when you crank the engine over are you getting any smoke out of the tailpipe? Are you sure that the block heater is working or just presume that it is because there is power on the outlet?
The glow plug relay is the weak link in the starting system on cold starts. If you are getting the wait to start light you might try shorting the two large lugs on it with a pair of jumper cables for about 30 seconds and try starting it then.

I get the wts light and the heater is working because my hoses are warm to the touch. It has warmed up since that morning. I cant tell if Im getting smoke but I do smell exhaust after cranking it for awhile.
I bought the cps at O'reilly, not sure of the brand. Its the grey one that Ive seen others talk about. Weird that the tach worked before I changed cps'.
If you have a dealer buy a CPS from them, a lot of the ones from parts stores have a habbit of being no good.
If you have a digital volt meter test the glow plug relay. When it is energized there should be less than 0.3volts difference between the two large lugs. If it test OK then you need to test the glow plugs.

The tach started working on the 3rd cps I installed. Still won't start. Will be checking the glow plug relay. I did replace it but bought a cheap one on internet. Hopefully that fixes the prob but I have a feeling that isn't it.
I tried to squirt a little ether in the intake and it did seem to fire for a sec but did not start.
I also replaced the fuel filter.

Did you replace the fuel filter after it stopped starting? If so, did it have an appropriate amount of fuel in the bowl? Do you have a mechanical or electrical fuel pump?

I changed it after it stopped starting. I believe its a mechanical fuel pump. The fuel bowl overflowed when I put new one in. Seemed to have plenty of fuel
