'95 Glow Plugs and Injectors

Several years ago I got some great step by step instructions from this page on replacing the G Plugs. Can someone link me to a good article on it. I remember a step by step to do, and it was great. THe one thing that sticks out in my head was using a 1/2" wobble socket and not a 1/2" socket on a wobble due to not fitting in where needed.

The next is the injectors. I am thinking they need some attention because it just seems to pretty much run like crap anymore, and mileage is dropping...getting about 11mpg (410,auto,235's). I could always run in the high teens and even low 20's in the flatlands. What kind of money are rebuilt injectors compared to new and is it a tough job?

Thanks in advance

There are glow plug replacement threads all over this site. Sam Miller wrote up those concise instructions and many of these glow plug threads have Sam's instructions linked to them or posted directly in them.

I just did a couple of searches and it looks like the owners of this site have purged all the post over a couple of years old. I haven't seen Sam on here for quite a while and if you do a user name search for him he doesn't show up. So much for a great site anymore.

If you send me a PM with your email address I can send you the information that you need in Word Doc form.

I could find you a link, but that would require ME to search for you.

I was wrong anyhow about Sam Miller's article. That one was for fuel pumps, not glow plugs.

Got Google?

If by helpful, you mean that you want someone else to do the searching for you, I guess it isn't. I would post a link if I didn't have to look for one.

Considering how often glow plugs come up this time every year it shouldn't be that hard to find the info.

Yep, I guess that help isn't available on this site anymore. Either that or you just don't want the help and want someone to provide a link for you. there is also a possibility that you ignored the help that I offered you.

The original glowplug article was written by a member/moderator that went by Carpentractor waaay back and was on his personal website (which hasn't been available for quite a few years now). Believer45 had it saved in WORD format, so you could try PM'ing him for it (or PM bugman since he offered you the same thing in his post above!). Cheers!

OK, no whining about helpfulness of the folks here. If they weren't helpful, you would have received zero replies! Even I don't like it when it looks like zero effort was put forth into finding the info. Heck, in two seconds I found 73 posts where Believer45 offers the WORD doc! The document is also posted over on PSN in the 94-97 Library, but that will require more than one click since I can't post the link (as this site will strip the link out of this post). Cheers!

Hey bugman, PM sent

Carpentractor is the guy I was thinking about. I know everytime I search THIS site for the Sam Miller guy, nothing was coming up.

For what its worth, I started on here when this site got its start and I was on dial up trying to listen to the PS rattle at idle, etc. There were alot of guys doing things and I suppose they are either gone or upgraded to the latest truck these days. I remember sending $$ to help out with the site. I had to change my screen name somewhere along the line, but thats the way it goes. I have had my truck since 97 and have always did everything myself with advice from this site

What is the PSN????

Deaner I sent you the info to your email.

PSN is another Powerstroke web site that a lot of the members here moved to a few years ago when Autoguide took over. Now the same members are jumping that ship since it was sold to Autoguide and moving over to the Army.

I have the Carpentractor article, an write-up I did on the glow plug relay and a list of parts that includes shells and pins to repair the engine wiring harness where it plugs into the valve cover gaskets from outside. Email me at Believer45@gmail.com, let me know where you saw this and what email address to use and I will reply with three MS Word attachments.
