96 F-250 PSD E4OD question

I was looking through the Summit Racing catalog and saw a B&M shift plus electronic shift improver for the 94 to 97 ford E4OD trans its part # BMM-70381 price is $39.95
Any body use one of these? My truck is stock no chip or anything, the trans was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago. I was thinking about adding one of these to help the trans last longer when towing hauling etc. I think I will add a bigger trans pan also maybe a Ford Racing, Hughes etc. What else do you guys do to make the trans Last. Thanks Ethan

Re: 96 F-250 PSD E4OD question

the B&M deal is not the best mod for the tranny, getting a fully modded vb added with a bigger cooler will help it live a long time. The vb (its actually an accumulator) needs to set up for a certain power level and use, meaning having it set up for a stock power rig will not be correct if there is ever a chip added.

Re: 96 F-250 PSD E4OD question

You probably won't find anyone on this site who knows anything about the B&M electronic shift thingy. Search for "sonnex" or "accumulator" for what richter is talking about and learn a bit about the E4OD before throwing parts on it. They are pricey to learn hard lessons on.

Those type push extra pressure everywhere. A VB or complete reprograming kit aka shift kit makes things happen where and when they should. A better deal than more everywhere for tranny life.
