Re: Anyone have factory Snow Plow Package?

The package for them was called the "Suspension package, Heavy Duty Front". Option code #674. It was not called Snow Plow package like it was/is with the SD rigs.

Looking at the window sticker that came with my '97 Reg cab F-350 4x4, it was a $30 option.

They were 5000 lbs rated springs. My door code says "8F" under the SPR column. I also had the camper package on this vehicle. It was payload Pkg #1 (code 201) and is 9000 lbs (GVWR).

Re: Anyone have factory Snow Plow Package?

Mr. Cutting Thank You Very Much!! I have been all over the place trying to find out the different spring values and no one knows , especially Ford. Is yours a factory 2 leaf or 3 leaf pack? I just don't wanna go through saggy springs like my 250's were. Thanks again

Re: Anyone have factory Snow Plow Package?

My '97 front springs are factory 2 leaf. I don't have the spring code conversions charts.

According to the sales brochure for '97 250's and 350's, the front spring ratings for a Regular cab 4x4's range from 3,305# to 5,000#.

The source book says that a std Reg cab 250 4x4 has 3305# springs and a Reg Cab 4x4 350 without HD front Sus has 3400# rated springs. Now, this is the range that can exist depending on what engine (gas or PSD) the rig has in it.

The Reg cab 250 4x4 has a 4600# rated front axle while the 350 has a 4800# rated axle. The 350 SC's and CC's had a 5000# rated axle.

Looking again in the source book, the HD Front Suspension package for F-250's (option 674) were 4,600# ratings. It also says that this package was standard with 250's that came with the 7.3L engine. And if I read it correctly, with that package it includes 4.10 gears otherwise without that package you'd have 3.55 gears as the std on a 250 with the PS engine.

The 674 package for the 350's gave you 5000# springs to go along with the 4800# rated axle.

Re: Anyone have factory Snow Plow Package?

So your option code 8F gave you the 5000# rated springs up front?

Re: Anyone have factory Snow Plow Package?

The 8F is the code on the door sticker.

The HD Front Suspension option code when I ordered was 674.
