back passenger door stuck - Diesel Forum

my back passenger door is stuck shut. i can not get it open with the power door lock or the handle. the whole door is dead. locks and window. im pretty sure my latch is stuck shut or something. my question is whats the best way to get the door off. i took the panel off and i can not manually get it open. i was gona take it off at the hinges but im not sure if that will help either? any ideas?

When this happened on my 99 the cable that works the lock had come loose and was not letting the latch open. Take a good look at the cable.

SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO BACK I LOOKED AT THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR AND EVERYTHING IS STILL HOOKED UP. I CAN NOT BUDGE ANY OF THE INSIDES TO UNLOCK TO LATCH. ITS WIERD CAUSE NOTHING WILL MOVE AT ALL. NOT THE DOOR LOCK NOT ANY OF THE RODS THAT MOVE. ITS REALLY GETTING THE BETTER OF ME.

is the door aligned? excess pressure can make the latch jam. Did you try have someone pushing the door closed to take the pressure off the latch while you try to relese the rod?

The doorlock actuator could have also frozen and be causing the lock portion to be jammed.
