Is blockheater standard on all PSD's ??? Is install very hard??
I recently bought a 97 F-250 HD 4X4 Crewcab and have not added to my sig yet. Question is do these year of trucks come standard with a block heater or is it an aftermarket item? I have not found one yet!
Are they very hard to install? Also are their any links with good instructions/illustrations. Thanks.

I believe on the 97's block heater was an option?
You can tell by looking at the top of the oil filter, on the filter mount there will be a wire harness connected to it if it has the heater, then just follow the wires.

The heater was included with the PSD option in 1997. Its is hard to find the plug. The dealer could not find mine when I bought it. I later found it. It should be on the drivers side behind the grill.

[/ QUOTE ]You might want to recheck your information. It was a option on the 97's and not all of them came with it. Usually if the truck was ordered by a dealer in a southern state it did not come with a heater. I'm not sure of where the cut off line was but not all 97's have them.

I found my heater and both it and the cord are bad. I bought a whole kit, heater cord and all from one of our sponsors for $33.27 plus shipping. Mine is a 94-97 type heater but I think they have newer years also. It was powerstrokeshop.com and the part number is PSM/3500043. I will try to put a link into but not sure I can.

I got the heater pretty quickly and it seemed like a very high quality heater and cord. Took me only about 30 minutes to change it and it works great. Thanks Powerstrokeshop!
